Project Manager/Instructor
Maryland’s Special Education Accountability
and
Decision Support System
CTE is recruiting a full-time Project Manager whose primary focus will be to coordinate and manage the implementation of a new Web-based solution, Maryland’s Special Education Accountability and Decision Support System (MSEADSS). This set of online applications will be implemented in school districts across the State of Maryland. A primary function of the software will be to create student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and to support individual student performance monitoring.
The responsibilities of the Project Manager will be to work with a team to manage a state-wide rollout of MSEADSS online applications in coordination with the Maryland State Department of Education and school district leaders. The Project Manager will contribute to the experience and research base at CTE to develop a rich array of online professional development resources and strategies to promote high quality implementation of the Maryland Online IEP; guide strategic planning, training, and follow-up support with school districts; and facilitate an online community of practice for educators using the Maryland Online IEP and other decision support tools. In addition, the Project Manager will assist with requirements definition and testing of future releases of the software applications. The applicant should have a background in technology and special education.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Education or related field
- Must be self-directed with a teamwork orientation
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines
- Skills and experience required in:
- Special Education
- The IEP development process, ideally using online IEP applications
- Understanding of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Familiarity with Web-based technologies
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Group facilitation and presentation skills (ideally professional development of teachers in the K-12 school environment)
- Project management and organizational skills
- Work location Columbia, Maryland (no relocation assistance)
