Project Manager/Instructor
General Education Collaboration Programs
The Center for Technology in Education (CTE), a partnership of the Johns Hopkins University Graduate Division of Education and the Maryland State Department of Education, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a dedicated, creative group committed to improving education for all students through appropriate uses of technology. CTE builds programs to maximize learning opportunities for students with disabilities and conducts research on general and special education program effectiveness and on the use of assistive technology accommodations.
CTE is currently seeking applicants for the position of Project Manager for General and Special Education Collaboration Programs to manage multiple grant-funded projects that provide online and face-to-face professional development to educators responsible for providing effective instructional interventions, accommodations, and assistive technology supports for students with special needs.
Project Manager Responsibilities
- Work as a team member to plan, implement, and evaluate professional development workshops, seminars, academies, and institutes for teachers and administrators.
- Design and deliver professional development resources that support general and special education collaboration.
- Facilitate electronic learning communities to support educators in their implementation efforts.
- Collaborate with assistive technology specialists, special and general education teachers and administrators, and technology coordinators in local schools and districts to identify needs and areas requiring assistance for implementing assistive technology according to federal and state regulations.
- Participate in national, state, regional, and local professional organizations in face-to-face and online settings that support leadership and professional development initiatives that address technology in education.
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in special education/general education collaboration.
- Experience in using assistive technology and providing instructional accommodations for students with special needs.
- Minimum Master’s degree.
- Knowledgeable of special education service delivery systems, inclusion models, and assessment strategies to determine effective applications of assistive technology for students with special needs.
- Experience in developing and delivering professional development experiences and participating in Web-based learning communities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to participate in collaborative teamwork.
