Regional Meetings of Local School System PDS Representatives

Local School Systems send their PDS Representative to one of the scheduled regional meetings to network and to learn about PDS implementation activities and PDS resources available in the state of Maryland. Discussion topics will include the 2001 PDS Leadership Academy, Pilot Site Visit Project, PDS Implementation Manual, Electronic Learning Community, and the 2002 PDS Research Conference.

2002 Professional Development Schools Research Conference
January 26, 2002, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Maryland's second Professional Development School Network Research conference will feature three distinct strands:

• Beginning the Research Process
• Action Research/Teacher Research
• PDS Impact Research

Dr. Lee Teitel of University of Massachusetts, Boston, will deliver the keynote address.

Pilot Site Visit Project
February - April 2002

As Maryland strives to validate its PDS Standards and Developmental Guidelines, pilot site visits will provide the opportunity to test these standards in mock visits. During the Spring of 2002, four PDS sites will be visited. The pilot site visit schedule is as follows:
