National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher
Education (NCATE) is responsible for the professional
accreditation of schools, colleges and departments
of education within the state of Maryland and throughout
the nation. NCATE's Standards for Professional Development
Schools were endorsed by the Unit Accreditation Board,
Standards Committee in March 2001. To view the full

The American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education
(AACTE) website offers a direct link to ERIC searches
on Professional Development School literature as well
as a national PDS database, sample partnership agreements,
and general information on professional development

The
Holmes Partnership is a network of universities, schools,
community agencies and national professional organizations
working in partnership to create high quality professional
development and significant school renewal to improve
teaching and learning for all children. The Holmes
Partnership is responsible for much of the literature
that has influenced the PDS movement, including "Tomorrow's
Teachers" (1986), "Tomorrow's Schools"
(1990), and "Tomorrow's Schools of Education
(1995).

Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) partners
with MSDE in supporting Professional Development Schools.
The MHEC web site offers information on the colleges
and universities in Maryland as well as grant opportunities.
