   Session 4 -- Activity 1

Activity 1 ~~ Book Time (5 minutes)

Objective: Recommended Reading

Activity: Read, How Animals Move, by David Byrne, Rigby, Discovery World

Context: This early fluency book has a table of contents, an index, a chart, and clear subheadings. The bats depicted on the cover are moving, which ties the image with the title. The book has good characters, and the text is well written. Each chapter describes a different way in which animals move around their natural environment-walking, jumping, running, flying, etc. The captions and wonderfully colored photographs of unusual African animals make this a highly appealing book for early readers.

When you're finished, please proceed to Activity 2
