  Overview for Session 1

In this session, you will investigate how children learn language and how that knowledge relates to learning how to read. Within this investigation, you will read about the conditions of learning and the predictors of reading. As you proceed through the activities, you will have an opportunity to relate this information to the schooling experiences you have had as a student, teacher, and perhaps parent. To begin this session, review the following activities and then begin at Activity 1.

Before you begin working on Activity 1, be sure to review the activities and approximate times for this lesson.
