   Overview for Session 3

In this session, you will build upon your knowledge of word-recognition activities by exploring Word Walls and how they promote early word identification skills. You will explore techniques for presenting Read Alouds and select some favorite Read Aloud books. In addition, you will make a book collection for independent reading that is appropriate for the reading levels of the children in your class. At the end of the session, you will develop a plan to arrange your classroom to create a print-rich environment. Please review all activities before beginning Activity 1.

Before you begin working on Activity 1, be sure to review the activities and approximate times for this lesson.
