   Overview for Session 5

In this session, you will identify the characteristics of a fluent reader and learn how to use instructional approaches to promote fluency. Specifically, you will focus on Readers Theater as a way to involve a group of children in reading to demonstrate fluency. Finally, you will be asked to engage in a Shared Reading in order to engage children interactively as they share a story or expository book with you.

Before you begin, please be sure to review the other five activities in this session—both to give yourself a sense of the time necessary to complete the session and to gain some context on the intended outcomes associated with each activity.
