Welcome to Teaching the Reader

In this course you will find the latest strategies in teaching young children to read.
We've designed this course for teachers and it's easy to use even if it's your first time in an online environment.

The course includes video clips from real classrooms and an opportunity for you to try the new techniques you see there in your own classroom. As a guest, you can preview most of the course materials right now. The course is open only to participants in the Bridges project. Please only register if you've discussed the course (and potential opportunities for continuing education credit) with your local public television station contact. Once you've registered, you may proceed through the course at your own pace. You must have completed the course by 4/15/03. Just click the "Registration button" and we will send you a password for total site access.
