PBIS in Maryland:

Evaluation

Maryland has partnered with Johns Hopkins University Center for the Prevention of Youth Violence to evaluate PBIS in Maryland. The evaluation effort entitled “Project Target” – is supported by a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Thirty-seven schools in 5 local school systems are participating in Project Target (Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Charles, and Washington Counties).

Project Target includes:

• Fidelity of implementation
• Student behavior
• Need for/referral for mental health services
• Need/referral for special ed services
• School characteristics
• Student achievement
• Teacher characteristics
• School demographics
