Question Seven:

Is the overall school climate prosocial?

Establish an overall pro-social behavior management plan for the school, such as the Affective Behavior Support program (LINK), or a behavioral curriculum such as the Seattle Committee for Children's Second Step program (LINK).

Have a clear flowchart of preventive actions, crisis intervention, and remediation steps that staff can easily follow. If the same concepts are taught to all staff and students, they're more likely to be accepted and followed. If all staff members know their responsibilities when misbehavior arises, problems are less likely to escalate into larger crises. Negative graffiti, posters, or other messages should be removed.
