Working with Schools - A Guide for Law Enforcement Officers

Community Policing Techniques Applied to Schools:

School as Part of the Larger Community

It is important to remember that while one can look at the school as its own community, it is part of a larger community, be it a town or city. Officers working with schools need to remember this because many issues that happen in the town and surrounding neighborhoods school are related to schools. The school does not sit in a vacuum, issues in the town and surrounding neighborhoods affect the school and vice versa.
