Working with Schools - A Guide for Law Enforcement Officers

Roles an Officer Plays in a School:

Learning Strategy

Strategies:

  1. List all the Police Topics that you could teach in a school.
  2. List law enforcement presenters that you could bring in as a guest speaker, i.e., polygraph operator, fingerprint specialist.
  3. List all law related topics you may be able to offer, e.g., why the constitution protects them as individuals.
  4. List other law enforcement law/police topics e.g., how the concept of individual freedom develops.
  5. Meet with school administrators and explain to them the different roles an officer plays in a school environment.
  6. Develop strategies with the administration to help you fulfill all of these roles.
