School Community:

Taking Pride in Your School

Everybody has a favorite teacher or administrator. Why not show your school pride by nominating a fantastic teacher at your school for a prestigious teaching award? By nominating an outstanding educator at your school, you are saying that you think your school has one of the best teachers around. You are also telling that teacher that he or she is appreciated. Who knows?

The teacher might even win a fabulous award all because you took the time to nominate them. For some links to some great teacher awards, look at the attached Teacher Awards document. You may want to get an adult to help you complete the nomination form.

Follow-Up Activity:
Which teacher would you nominate for an award? Why? Can you write down your reasons and submit them to the right source? Do you think this teacher knows your reasons? Why not share them with this person. Use the Give that Teacher an Award form to help you brainstorm ideas.
