Being a Leader in Your School Community Tutorial

School Community:

Taking Charge of Change

Perhaps you have noticed some policy or practice you would like to see changed at your school. If you want to change a policy or see a new procedure introduced, you may want to get involved in your school’s student government. If your school doesn’t have an active student government set up or if all members are in place for the current school year, don’t despair!

Another way to get involved in policy-making in your school is by becoming a member or your school’s Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) or by attending a school board meeting. If you aren’t sure about how to get involved, speak to your school counselor or a teacher. They will be able to share with you how to get involved.
