Project Homepage: Overview: The specific goals of this challenge grant are: (1) to provide a comprehensive staff development program that emphasizes follow-up, coaching, and teaching behaviors; (2) to develop and utilize an infrastructure of interactive telecommunication connectivity for student and teacher collaboration; (3) to develop out-reach teaching strategies and materials that will address the disadvantaged and underachieving learner; and (4) to develop a Research, Evaluation, and Design Center that provides state of the art material for teachers. The performance criteria for all goals are simple... do students know more and perform better on state End of Grade tests? The Project's instructional programs are being designed to facilitate the learning of disadvantaged students. The project provides teacher resources and tools to enhance instructional planning and delivery addressing individual student needs, different learning styles, and different times required for mastery. Instuctional strategies and specific lesson plans are provided indexed by basic skills subjects (reading, writing, arithmetic), grade level and skill level.
