Here in Sumter County, South Carolina, we've been working hard to overcome problems that are generations old. We have had great success but still have far to go. Our vision is of a connected community working together for the benefit of us all. To this end, local business and industry, community organizations, government agencies, institutions of higher education, high tech hardware and software companies, our library system, our health care providers, the State of South Carolina, citizens of our county, and parents of our students have joined with the Sumter School District Two to create a true learning community.

We are embedding new technologies into the fabric of school, work and community activities. We are bringing into the technological fold those traditionally left out due to economics or lack of knowledge or lack of access. We are opening avenues of communication between parents and teachers, between students and adults be they workers, managers, employers, professionals, or researchers. We are bringing the knowledge and the seeker of knowledge together regardless of the barriers of time and distance. In this way, we will continue a generation of progress and take our prosperity and security to the next level.
