Accelerated Master of Arts in Teaching

Hopkin's Unique Dual Degree Option in Teacher Preparation

The AMAT is an accelerated graduate program offered to upper-class undergraduates who wish to gain teacher certification and their master's degree. Students who have completed 60 credits of undergraduate course work may pursue a Hopkins undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies degree and Accelerated Masters of Arts in Teaching (AMAT) simultaneously. The program is designed to assist students to become elementary or secondary education teachers while earning a bachelors and masters degree from Johns Hopkins. Ideal candidates included community college students who have an A.A. degree or individuals interested in a career change who have not completed their bachelor's degree.
