Course of Study

The following courses may be taken with consent of both the undergraduate and education advisors while pursuing the undergraduate interdisciplinary studies degree:

Human Development, Learning and Diversity (6 credits)
Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (3 credits)
Introductory Processes and Acquisition of Reading(Elementary) (3 credits)

OR

Methods of Teaching Reading in the Secondary Content Area I (3 credits)

Remaining courses taken after completing the Bachelor's degree for the Master of Arts in Teaching:

Materials for Teaching Reading (Elementary) (3 credits) AND
Instruction of Reading, Elementary (3 credits)

OR

Methods of Teaching Reading in the Secondary Content Area II (3 credits)
Graduate Specialty Course (Secondary) (3 credits)
Methods of Teaching Elementary or Secondary (6 credits)
Educational Alternatives for Students with Special Needs (3 credits)
Teaching Internship and Seminar Elementary (6 credits)

OR

Teaching Internship and Seminar Secondary (9 credits)
Diagnosis/Assessment for Reading Instruction (Elementary only) (3 credits)
Induction Seminar for New Teachers (3 credits)
