Flexible Master of Arts in Teaching
Available
as a full or part-time option, the FlexMAT allows
students to complete flexibly scheduled courses
and a full-semester internship over a two- to
five-year period. The curriculum integrates
theory and practice of teaching through multiple
field experiences, culminating in a full-semester
internship in a school setting.
Course work is scheduled in the evenings so
students may work full time until their internship
begins. The internship requires one semester
as a full-time student. The Hopkins Graduate
Division of Education has developed strong partnerships
with area school systems in which teacher candidates
are placed. Through these partnerships, valuable
classroom experience is included at every stage
of the program.
