AMAT
(Accelerated Master of Arts in Teaching)
This option provides early admission for undergraduates.
Candidates who meet the criteria for acceptance
may take up to 12 credits of the program before
completion of the undergraduate degree.
FlexMAT
(Flexibly Scheduled Master of Arts in Teaching)
This is a part-time option for candidates who
continue their current employment while taking
classes. Candidates must terminate their employment
for one semester to complete the 20-week teaching
internship.
ProMAT
(Professional Immersion Master of Arts in Teaching)
This option is offered in partnership with local
school systems to provide support and a full
masters program for candidates during their
first two years of teaching. These alternative
options which adapt and apply effective practices
from our school immersion model are designed
to help meet the teacher shortage. Follow the

SIMAT
(School Immersion Master of Arts in Teaching)
In this full-time, 13-month option, candidates
begin in July combining course work with experience
in a summer program for children. During the
school year, candidates work in the classroom
with a supervising teacher for the entire year
while taking course work at night. The final
summer, candidates plan and implement a summer
program for children and complete their remaining
course work.
