The consortium works to establish a community of learners. The curriculum for the Fall Institute and Maryland Technology Academy includes follow-up activities that help to establish such a community.
Fall Institute participants may elect to conduct an in-service activity at their school (minimum one hour), modeling for colleagues instructional strategies and sharing with them resources presented at the Institute. Those selecting this option provide the Fall Institute coordinator with a copy of the outline/agenda of the in-service including number of attendees, copies of any handouts created for the in-service, and the signature of their principal.
Maryland Technology Academy Fellows design ongoing professional development for their peers and develop a plan for leading their staff in technology integration over the next school year. They work closely with their principal, and have benchmarks for implementing their plans. Academy staff team leaders monitor the implementation.
