This is a web page about my journey through space and its mysteries.  We will start with The Solar System.  The Solar System is made up of  nine planets that orbit around the sun.  Earth the only planet proven to have life.  Each planet has its own length of  day and year depending on its orbit around the sun and its spin on its own axis.

 Earth is.....       23 hrs, 56mins
 Mars is........    24 hrs, 37mins
 Jupiter is.....    9 hrs, 55mins
Saturn is......    10 hrs, 40 mins
 Uranus is.....    17 hrs
Neptune is....    18 hrs, 30 mins

This is Earth (if you haven't guessed).
The only known and proven planet
with life.
This is Neptune; the eighth planet away from the sun. Also known as the blue planet, the blue-green color is made up of gases.
Pluto is known as the ice planet because it is so cold.  Once every 248 in Earth years Pluto shifts into Neptunes orbit! Dont believe it well you better!!
Mars is  very cold even though it is known as the red planet.  At the top and bottom of the planet are poles just like the North and South Poles on Earth.
Uranus is big enough to hold 64 planets the size of Earth!  It's rotation is so swift it causes
Jupiter is made up of mostly hydrogen and helium gases. It gives off twice as much heat than it gets from the sun.  Jupiter is known to have a "Great Red Spot" which is the largest area of swirling gases on Jupiter's surface.

Saturn spins at about 1800 kilometers per hour.  Saturn has over 1000 rings made up of ice and dust. Scientist think that the white spots on Saturn are huge and very powerful storms.
Mercury is the planet closest to the sun.  It's average estimated distance to the sun is 58 million kilometers.  Mercury goes around the sun in 88 Earth days. On the sunlit side it is about 810 degrees Fahrenheit and -290 degrees Fahrenheit on the dark side.
Venus is the second planet from the sun. Venus' orbit is only 1% off from being a perfect circle.   Venus in Greek means goddess of love and beauty.  243 Earth days equals 1 Venus day!
