Maryland Technology Academy Programs
The Maryland Technology Academy consists of three components: the Summer Institute, the Administrator Symposium, and the Satellite Programs.
Leadership Program
The institute is designed for teachers, library media specialists, and other educators from across the state, who engage in a motivating, practical, and "instructionally challenging" experience. Educators, working in a team-based structure, explore technology integration, digital content for instruction, and leadership skills in order to become change agents.
Administrator Symposium
The symposium for school administrators focuses on creating a vision for improving learning through the effective use of technology. Administrators learn strategies for data-based decision making to monitor the achievement of school improvment goals. The program includes information and resources for improving student achievement through research based instructional practices. Participants examine critical questions about how technology can affect student learning and how leaders can best support their staff.
Satellite Programs
Satellites provide Maryland educators professional development in technology integration. Districts within Regional Professional Development Networks (RPDN) collaboratively develop programs to meet specific content priorities with their districts.
