Introduction

You have recently been employed by Cyclops Products Company and at today's board meeting your Product Development and Design Team was given the task of coming up with a product, which considers the environment, is cost effective, and appeals to high school students.  The company intends to advertise your new product on their new web site and would like a multimedia ad campaign developed.

Task
1. Break up into 4-6 person teams.

    • Members will be grouped based on their learning style poll.
    • Members will be group based on their familiarity with different multimedia knowledge.
2. Assign duties for team members based on the Duty Roster.
3. Research the type of product to be developed through the use of the
   Peer Product Choice Survey.
4. See the Sample Charts for samples of some of the charts to be done and used.
5. Draw a scale sketch of the design of the product.Sample Sketches of the
   Product.
6. Determine how the product will be environmentally friendly by determining
   what recyclable material can and will be used in the composition of the product. 7. Develop a chart showing the cost versus selling price ratio using Excel.
8. Develop the product design sketch.
9. Create a multimedia advertising campaign using one the the four categories based
   on sign-up for the categories:
    • Desktop Publishing Presentation. (Not to exceed .25 to .5 page and a 8.5 x 11 Sheet of Paper)  (Must include a visual/graphic)
    • Power Point Presentation. (Not to exceed 30 to 60 Seconds)
    • Video Production. (Not to exceed 30 to 60 Seconds) *
    • Audio Production. (Not to exceed 30 to 60 Seconds)*
    *(The audio and video will be electives based on availability of teacher-aided instruction.)
10. Develop a logo and company/teamT-shirt design.
11. Develop a journal record for the team.
12. Do a peer team evaluation of each team member's function.
13. Determine the format for the multimedia presentation rubric.

Evaluation

Your evaluation will consist of four components:

Peer Team Evaluation Score (Each team member will copy enough of the Peer Evaluations to evaluate everyone on the team except the team member doing the evaluation.  e.g.- Four team members each member needs to print three copies.)
Journal Scoring

    For many years people have searched for ways to get their product to those interested in buying. They understand that advertisement has the power to persuade prospective buyers. Upon completion of this WebQuest, you should be able to see the power multimedia has given to advertisement.
