Project Summary: 

 

Create a PowerPoint multimedia presentation to model that information can be communicated through a variety of formats. By using the Battle of Antietam, recognize and discuss local history as pertaining to the American Civil War.  Compare Antietam of today to the Antietam of September 1862.  Research and be prepared to compare and contrast the historical, social, and political aspects of the American Civil War.

Objectives/Desired Results (What will the learners understand as a result of this project?)

 

·        Teachers will learn to model communication of information through a variety of  print and nonprint formats. 

·        Teachers will learn how to integrate technology into current lessons.

·        Teachers’ knowledge of multimedia software and devices will be reinforced.

·        Teachers will be able to work collaboratively with the Library Media Specialist.

Plans for Facilitation:

 

1.        Prepare materials, tools, and resources.

2.        Create PowerPoint presentation at Maryland Technology Academy to model how to integrate a variety of technologies into lessons.

3.        Present PowerPoint project during a Professional Development Activity.  

4.        Teachers will be given time to work collaboratively with the Library Media Specialist in order to create their own presentations.

5.        Teachers will be given a self-evaluation rubric

6.        Teachers will be coached in the creation of their own rubrics for their students.
