Now that you know more about the Food Pyramid, you will create an interactive Power Point presentation displaying what you learned about the food groups. You will be able to share your project with your teammates from other classes.
1. The first slide in your project will be a title slide. Give your project a name, and put your name as the author of the project in the subtitle box. Use slide layout # 1 for this slide.
2. The next six slides of your project will be for each food group. Insert each new slide using layout # 9 or # 10, which allow for a title, bulleted list, and a picture. Each slide should:
3. After you have created
these slides, customize the background of your slides. You may also change
the size, style, and color of the font. You may view your slide show at
this point. Save your project at this time.
4. You are now ready for the “Advanced Project.” You will be adding an additional slide and making it interactive by adding hyperlinks. You will also be moving it in your slide sorter to position # 2.
5. Insert a new slide-using layout # 2, with a title and bulleted list. For the title of this slide type “Click on the food groups below.” Type the name of the food groups in the bulleted area. On your slide sorter, click and drag this slide to the # 2 position.
6. You are now ready to insert hyperlinks. On slide # 2 that you just made, highlight the fruit group. Click on the hyperlink button on the toolbar, the globe with the paper clip. On the bottom browse button, click it and choose the slide called “Fruit Group” and click OK. You have just inserted the hyperlink. Continue this process with the other food groups. You will notice the food groups are now underlined on your slide.
7. You also need to add hyperlinks to each individual food group slide. Open each slide and type the word “back” somewhere near the bottom. Highlight this word and click on the hyperlink button. Browse and link each back to the “Click on the food groups below” slide. This will bring the person using your presentation back to slide # 2.
8. Your project is complete except for choosing an interesting slide transition. You may choose one slide transition for your project. When setting up your slide show to view, remember to set up the kiosk browser.
9. Don’t forget to save your
work!
