The rubric below will help you assess your work on the Hot Topics page.  Use the criteria below to evaluate your work and then make the necessary corrections.

1 point
Learner has a title typed on the page but has not altered its appearance.
2 points
Learner has a beautifully typed title for their page with alterations to make the title bold, colored, italicized, or underlined.
Link Construction
0 points
There are no links on the page.
5 points
Learner has some links on the page but they are not all active.
10 points
Learner has 5-7 active links on his/ her page which are all relevant to the topic.
Link Evaluation

There are no links on the page or there are links that are not accurate or current.
10 points
A majority of the learner's sites are accurate, not biased, and current.  There is also a minimum of advertising on those sites. 
20 points
All of the learner's sites are from reliable sources. There is little to no advertising on the sites.  They are all current, containing an updated date and contact person.
Style

The page has not been altered in any way--no color, boldness, italics, or underline.

The page has been altered slightly using one or two tools to change the appearance.
