CUMULUS
Here are several types of cumulus clouds.  The first picture is an altocumulus and the second is known as a cumulonimbus cloud.  Cumulus clouds are usually very fluffy and white.  These clouds can come in many shapes.  Sometimes we say they look like cottonballs or popcorn. They can be alone or in groups.  They are located high in the sky and are made up of many individual clouds.  Sometimes the clouds can form a pattern like in the patchwork clouds  or the wavy pattern.

STRATUS
Stratus clouds as you can see cover most of the sky.  They often form a blanket over the whole sky.  They are low in the sky.   These clouds are thin and you can sometimes see the sun or the moon shining behind it. Fog is a stratus cloud that is touching the ground.

CIRRUS
Cirrus clouds are high in the sky and are often wispy looking.  Sometimes they look like hair blowing in the wind.  They are very thin and can curl up on the ends. They are so thin you almost look blue because the sky is reflecting off the cloud.
