Resource Bank Construction
This activity will allow you to gain background knowledge ranging from the
the Depression to the prosperity of the 1940's to the start of WW II.

TASK ASSIGNMENT:
1. Search through the sites listed below to compile a "resource bank" of texts, photos, video clips, and sounds which reflect the culture, major events, tone, and people of the United States from the Depression through the 1940's.  Some sites will provide you with background data while others will have galleries and exhibits to work from in terms of your selections.
2. The following components are required elements:
                           - a minimum of 8 photographic images
                           - a minimum of 5 poems
                           - a minimum of 2 headlines
                           - a minimum of 4 sound clips
                           - a minimum of 1 video clip.
You will receive points for including each piece within your bank as well as for completing several reflective journal entries assigned in class.
 3.  Any additional pieces will greatly supplement your resource bank and be extremely useful in the next phase of our study in this unit.  You are not limited to the electronic texts below.  Feel free to scan artifacts.  Research printed text.  There are many options!
 4.  Presentation of your findings can take on a variety of forms.  You may design a Power Point presentation which highlights your collected pieces - OR - you may present findings on a simple series of webpages - OR - at the very least, categorize pieces on disk.  You are required to have a clear system of organization, regardless of the mode you select.
