Expert Survey Takers Page

The task of the survey team is to conduct a study of your school community to find out for the webquest team what we should include in our school website to meet the needs of our community.

What you need to do:

1. Conduct a brainstorming session to find out what you might want to have included in your survey.Use ideas from the work done by the research team about other school websites. Use the computer application called Inspiration to help focus your ideas.

2. Use a wordprocessing application to create your survey document. Remember to add a deadline for the return of the survey! Employ an editor (your English teacher would be a
good choice) to check your survey for spelling and grammatical errors.

3. Decide how you are going to distribute the survey. Who are you going to poll?

all the students?       staff ?            school families?            others in the community?

4. Distribute the surveys.

5. Collect the surveys.

6. Use a spreadsheet application (Excel would be a good choice).
Enter data from your survey into a spreadsheet document.

7. Use the completed spreadsheet to create a graph to more clearly show your data.

8. Use your spreadsheet and graphs to analyze your data.

9. Be prepared to share your results with the technicians as they begin creating the website.
