Select 3 ½ Floppy A:
Name the document October 12

Repeat the same process above
Type what you did yesterday in the window. Keep it short
If you don’t feel like typing new stuff, this would be a good time to practice copying and pasting from one document to another.
You can open your old document on with your new one and copy the text
Select Save As from the File Menu.
Save to the 3 ½ Floppy A:
Name the document October 11

Repeat the same process above
Type what you want to do tomorrow.  Keep it short

Save to the 3 ½ Floppy A:
Name the document October 13

Now you should have at least 3 files on your A drive.

Close the WordPad Program.

Looking at the 3 1/2 floppy

Double Click on My Computer
Double Click on 3 ½ Floppy A:
Lets check how much space we have left on the A disk before we go on.
We should have single clicked instead of double clicked
Easy enough…. Single click on the Up icon at the top.
How much space to you have left on your floppy A??????
Now single Click on the 3 ½ Floppy A:
Is it time to get a new disk??

Now double click on the Floppy A:
You should see the 3 files that you just created.

Creating a Folder

Now lets create a folder to put those files in.
From the File menu above
Select New and then folder

Naming the Folder

Single Click on the new folder
Single Click on the word new folder
Rename the Folder “My Life”

If you accidentally double click, You can hit the up icon at the top.

You decide that you don’t like that name.
Do the same thing that you did above and name the folder “October”

Moving Files into the Folder

Now you are going to move the files that you created into the folder.

You can do this several ways.

Select the file that you want to move and drag it into the folder.
Do this with the other 2 files

To remove the files
Click Undo Move on the Edit Menu

Do this until all of the files are back where they were.

You can select multiple files that are next to each other
Single Click on the first file
Hold down the shift key
Single Click on the other files

They should now all be highlighted

Now single click on one of the files and drag them all into the folder

To remove the files
Click Undo Move on the Edit Menu

Now if you just want some of the files but not the others
Single Click on the file that you want

Hold down the Control Key
Click on one of the other files that you want to put into the folder
Drag them into the folder

Warning!!!!  Your book says that you can undelete a File or Folder by going to the Recycle Bin and Clicking on the Folder and then clicking on Restore.  This only works if  the file was originally in your My Documents Folder.  It does not work if it was deleted from your Disk

Close all of the windows
