This WebQuest fits well into a study of the United States government.

Prior to the lesson :

Using brainstorming software such as Inspiration, the teacher will lead the class through a brainstorming session based around the theme of what the characteristics are of a good leader.  This activity gets children thinking about what they should be looking for in the people for whom they will vote into office.

The activities included in this WebQuest are intended to span several days.  The research and questions on the first page could take one to two sittings alone.  One visit should include choosing an office and viewing the resources.  Running a successful campaign and writing a speech could be one or more days as could the creation of a PowerPoint presentation.

Several activities are included on the Conclusion page in an effort to
differentiate between the different needs in your classroom
(for students who finish ahead of time or need additional enrichment).
