Strategies
Previewing and Predicting:
Look at the website, article, or information before you begin to read. Think about the title, what might this website be about? Are there any pictures or captions that will help you to understand the information. Do you already know anything about the topic?

Picturing and Visualizing:
As you read, try and make a picture of what the information is telling you in your mind. Can you "see" what it might look like? Think about how this new information relates to what you already know and have read.

Think Out Loud:
As you read, stop and ask yourself: What am I reading? What does it mean? Do I understand? Does the information remind me of anything else? Is this information important to know or just fun? How will this information help me achieve my goal?
