The book Lost Moon was written by Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger. Jim Lovell was an astronaut on the apollo 13 mission to the moon. Jim Lovell was acompionied by two other astronauts their names were jack Swigert and Fred Haise. They were in for the ride of a life time. Jim Lovell was an experienced pilot from the navy. He then transfered from their to test out different jets that the US was comming out with in the future. When the Three men were launched in their mission of apollo 13 they were in trouble before the first day of their mission even ended. The First problem of the mission was a little on Jim had accidentily set of his life jacket to fill up. he couldn't just let it drain out cause it would of confused the computers if the Co2 level rised heavely. So NASA came up with the idea to drain it out of the urinal. That would just send the Co2 into space and causing no problems for the ship. From there it was smooth sailing for just a couple of hours then all hell broke lose. After they were done with their Conference over the T.V. they tucked away they camera. There was a suden jolt and a tremor. Then the crew noticed the needle that kept track of oxygen tank one was going down. They radioed what they noticed about their oxygen level to the ground and they said they new. They figured they had at least two hours left of oxygen in that tank. They did have two tanks so they weren't in that much trouble. Then they noticed their power were going down and that they didn't have two of so they were in trouble. They had some more oxygen and power in the lunar mule. So they ditched their ship and climbed in. They used the mule to go around the moon which would create a sling shot affect by going behind the moon then flying around the other side. By doing so they concerved power so they could save it for re-entry into the earth. they then ditched their lunar mule and got into their re- entry craft part of the ship. The three astrounauts new they were in for the roughest part of their journey. For hours they sat in their ship freezing waiting for their ship to re- enter into the earths atmosphere on April, 17 12:07 P.M..      If you like to read a great book that will keep you in suspense you will love the book Lost Moon.
I really liked this book because it will keeps you in suspense. The only boaring part of the book is in the beginning when they tell you about the Gemini missions and Lovell's life story and background. It gets good as soon as The apollo 13 ship leaves the ground. Then the best parts of the books is when their trouble starts happening. I think it is pretty cool how quickly NASA figured out how to bring the Apollo ship back down to earth. With all the problems they were having up in space. That is my Opinion of The book Lost Moon.
